Mazin Al-Khafaji is a prominent figure in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), known for his expertise in dermatology and internal medicine. Originally from Iraq, he trained extensively in TCM, both in China and the UK, and has become one of the leading practitioners and educators in the field. Al-Khafaji is particularly renowned for his work in treating complex skin disorders using Chinese herbal medicine. He has lectured internationally, sharing his knowledge and clinical experience with practitioners around the world. Al-Khafaji is also a co-author of the „Manual of Acupuncture,“ a key reference work for TCM practitioners. His contributions have significantly advanced the understanding and practice of Chinese medicine in the West.

Mazin Al‑Khafaji started his education in Iraq and the UK. He studied traditional and modern Chinese Medicine in 1979. Based on his Chinese knowledge he studied Internal Medicine at the Shanghai College of Traditional Chinese Medicine where he made his Doctor in Chinese Medicine in 1987.

Today he is recognised as one of the leading specialists in the field of dermatology and Chinese herbal medicine. He is a well-known clinician and works also as a teacher at conferences all over the world.

He is the founder of the Avicenna Centre of Chinese Medicine (www.avicenna.co.uk), which is dedicated to furthering the integrated practice and study of Chinese Medicine.
