The Shen Nong Ben Cao Jing is the basis for the study of Chinese medicinals. The Shang Han Lun and Jin Gui Yao Lue (Treatise on Damage and Essentials of the Golden Cabinet) was viewed as the original authoritative text on Chinese formulas and prescriptions as well as treatment based on pattern discrimination. The translations of these classic books Nei Jing and Shang Han Lun/Jin Gui Yao Lue have been available in English since decades.
