J. S. Jealous
James S. Jealous D.O. was born in 1943. With his father and godfather being osteopaths, he started early and took a job at the osteopathic hospital in Maine at the age of 14. Four years later he began his studies in radiology at the same hospital and had the pleasure of meeting some excellent osteopaths like Angius Cathie. In 1965 Jealous began his osteopathic-medical education at the Osteopathic College in Kirksville Missouri. At this time he was a fellow in anatomy and already taught the lower age groups. He graduated in 1970 and took his residency at the Osteopathic Hospital in Maine. In 1966 he finished his first course at the SCTF (Sutherland Cranial Teaching Foundation; was founded by Sutherland himself), later joined as a member and was part of the executive board until 1993. He taught from 1975 on with his mentor Rollin Becker. Dr. Jealous was able to learn the Cranial Concept directly from Dr. Sutherland in the early 1970s. In 1973 Dr. Jealous met Dr. Ruby Day, who was with Sutherland since the early years and has also taught by his side. He had the privilege to be taught by her exclusively until her death in the mid-1980’s.
From 1971 until 1998 he was a mentor and taught pupils of osteopathy in his practice in Maine. He has been president of the Osteopathic Centre for children in London since 10 years.
He has achieved an award as professor for the New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and continues to teach there. In 1994 he founded his concept of The Biodynamics of Osteopathy and started lectures on this subject. He has taught his concept all over the world.
