Helen Nagle-Smith

After a previous career in the voluntary sector, where I delivered, shaped, and managed information and counseling services, I trained at the Institute for Traditional and Herbal Medicine (ITHMA) in London, qualifying in 2006. I now run my own aromatherapy and massage practice, and I am an author, educator, and researcher in the field of aromatherapy and essential oils. Additionally, I speak internationally.

In 2020, I published Working with Unusual Oils – Volume 1, which covered 18 lesser-known oils. My second book, Working with Unusual Essential Oils (released by Singing Dragon in 2024), explored 40 more unusual essential oils. My third book, Aroma, Aromatherapy, and Trauma, is set to be released in March 2025. I have written over 20 articles, including peer-reviewed ones, for several international aromatherapy journals such as the International Journal of Professional Holistic Aromatherapy, Aromatika, In Essence, and Aromatherapy Today.
